TO ALL BRANCHES WITH SOUTH WEST TRAINS MEMBERS

12th February 2015

Dear Colleagues,

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2014- SOUTH WEST TRAINS

You will be aware members rejected of both options previously offered by the company. This led to the company and your representatives meeting further to discuss how to improve the offer. I can advise the company revised the offer to 1 option as follows:-

Year 1, 2.3% Or £450, whichever is the greater.
Year 2, Retail Price Index or 0.25%, whichever is the greater.

In addition a proposal to resolve the outstanding claim in respect of Retired Staff Travel, a copy of which is attached.

Following this offer the Full Company Council, GGC, Senior AGS and myself met at Unity House to consider this latest offer. The GGC were requested to put the offer to a vote of the members by referendum with a view to accept.

Members will receive voting papers in due course. Can you bring this circular to the attention of your members and encourage participation in the referendum.

Yours Sincerely,

Mick Tosh

Circular noNP/023/15

My ref: EO/6

11 February 2015

Dear Colleagues,

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY – 8 MARCH 2015

This year we are celebrating 100 years of women membership and there are a number of events taking place that we are encouraging our women members to attend.

Firstly, as usual, our National Women Members’ Conference coincides with International Women’s Day and this year it will be held over the weekend of 7-8 March 2015 in Wigan (Mercure Oak Hotel).  Please contact the Equal Opportunities Officer, j.webb@rmt.org.uk t: 020 7529 8821 if you have any late nominations.

Members are also welcome to the Women’s Training Weekend which is taking place 25-26 September.  This is short 2 day course designed for women who wish to become more involved in the union but would like a better understanding of itsstructure and how it works.  Applications for this course should be sent to the Education Centre.

Badges of the logo (as below) are being sent to all female members of the union in their next edition of RMT News.  I am also enclosing a badge with a slightly modified logo which is also available.

In addition, please also find enclosed copies of an ITF postersticker and calendar.  Additional posters and copies of the Women’s Charter are also available from the Equal Opportunities Officer.

I hope we can use this centenary anniversary, not just as a celebration but as an opportunity to recruit, encourage and support female members in our union.

Yourssincerely,

Mick Cash

General Secretary
