Council of Executives Candidates

Waterloo Branch have invited the candidates on the 30th September 2010 who are looking for Branch support for the Council of Executives position 2011-2013....the candidates will address the Branch and listen to their views on the reasons why they are standing for this important position...

Peter Skelly (Regional Organiser is attending the Branch

Peter Skelly (Relief Regional Organiser) who is covering the Wessex area will be attending the Branch Meeting on the 26th August, Peter will be addressing the Branch on issues that are currently being dealt with, and will be available to take questions and issues from the members.

Also in attendance will be candidates that are seeking Branch support for the Unions Council of Executives position January 2011 to December 2013.

Bill Read (Branch Chairman closes the meeting for the last time)

Bill Read the Branch Chairman closed his last meeting last month and will now be retiring from both the Chairman of the Branch and various other posts he has held over the years including Health and Safety/LDC Rep for the RMT.

Alex Gordon the Unions National President attended the Branch to make a presentation to Bill on behalf of the Branch, he thanked Bill for all the hard work he has done over the years and wished him a happy retirement.

Branch Officials Course at Doncaster

A Branch Officials Course was arranged and some 9 Branch Officials attended the course at the National Education Centre in Doncaster.

2 tutors were running the course and the National Education Officer over saw the Course, this was a pilot course to get feed back, and a further pilot course is going to be arranged for later this year.

As soon as these are completed the final draft course will be presented to the Unions Executive for approval, then then the course will be rolled out to all Branch Officials.
